Hi Colin,
I want to send my warmest heartfelt wishes for your speedy recovery and return of full health and happiness. God puts us on paths for a reason. One day, and this is certain, you will look back and this will actually make some sense and bring you comfort and strength. You and your family aare in my thoughts constantly.
T and I had the opportunity to visit with you and your family the other day. It was a mixed-bag of emotion ranging from sad to angry. Everyday I help people; some in as dire a situation as you have experienced. The difference between you and them is the fact that I had the opportunity to do something for them. Now, I just sit and wait, frustrated, for my friend to wake up. Colin, you are loved, and we all can’t wait for you to return to us. I miss you; we all do. Get well soon, friend.
First, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers that have been sent to the family of Colin. Your love and support gives them the strength to get through this difficult time.
On May 13, Colin, Jesse and their friend Kristen were involved in a tragic house fire. For all the details please go to http://www.weheartcolin.com/blog. Colin was brought to Blodgett Hospital’s Burn Unit; his main injury being extensive smoke inhalation. At that time he was placed on a ventilator and treated accordingly. His burns are 2nd degree but were only a secondary concern. He was given medications to keep him sedated and comfortable as possible.
On Saturay May 16, a neurologist evaluated Colin’s brain activity. The prognosis was bleak. The family asked if Colin may be able to give the ultimate gift of love by donating his vital organs to those in need; Gift of Life was contacted.
Today, Sunday May 17, another neurological test was performed and the prognosis remained consistant with the previous assessment. It is now in God’s hands.
Family and friends continue to remain in a constant vigil at his side continualy trying to lift Connie, Grandma Heide, Rudi, Tasha, Jesse, Jordan and especially Colin’s spirits and strength. We ask that you continue to include this family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult period of time.
With love,
Friends and Family on behalf of the Grenn’s
I just read about all this. It seems so surreal, people I know being involved in a serious house fire like this. . . I pray for Colin, that he’ll make a recovery, I pray for the rest of the Grenn family, that they may have the strength and support that they need through this trying time.
If there is anything that we can do for you all, don’t hesitate to ask.
I just wanted to leave my regards. Colin you are in my thoughts and prayers! I pray for the Grenn family that you can find strength through this difficult time. My thoughts are with you. ~Laura
